The history of RC Celta, quarry, feeling, enthusiasm, energy, celtism… came together this afternoon at the Mar de Vigo Auditorium in an emotional event organised by the Celta Foundation on the occasion of the Centenary of the club. Around 1500 Celtic children attended the ‘Centenario cos Cativos’ and were able to get to know better, not only the Celtic history, but also the canteranos Iago Aspas and Gabri Veiga.
The event, conducted by Carlos Veleiro, was opened by the president of RC Celta, Carlos Mouriño, who welcomed the young Celtistas and encouraged them to keep their enthusiasm in the stands of Abanca Balaídos to support the team and follow the legacy of their parents and grandparents.
After the president’s words, the three times Spanish freestyle football champion Anto Sanz came on stage and delighted the young audience with an exhibition of imagination and skill.
The Celtic history took centre stage with the screening of the magnificent video about the 100 years of life of RC Celta produced by the prestigious Academia Play platform, the channel with the most followers on YouTube in Spain.
The attendees then had the opportunity to ask Iago Aspas and Gabri Veiga numerous questions about their concerns, hopes and expectations, with fiery ovations from the audience after the footballers’ speeches.
The ‘Centenario cos Cativos’ ended with the RC Celta anthem sung with enthusiasm by the whole auditorium.
La recaudación del evento se destinó íntegramente a la campaña solidaria ‘100 Anos – 100 Toneladas’ puesta en marcha con motivo del Centenario por el Banco de Alimentos de Vigo y la Fundación Celta.
