In addition to the team’s display and the crucial victory against Real Valladolid, Celta’s tribute to one of its most beloved former players and coaches: Eusebio Sacristán, the first Centenary Ambassador, will remain in the memory of the Celtic fans.

The former coach lived with intensity the hours before the match against his home team, but he will certainly not forget the affection shown by the RC Celta fans when he stepped on the pitch of Abanca Balaídos to perform the kick-off.

It was an emotional moment for Eusebio Sacristán, who, accompanied by the president of the club, Carlos Mouriño, entered the pitch through the tunnel to receive a warm ovation from the Celtic fans and to meet again one of the players from the youth academy whom he gave his debut in the first team, Hugo Mallo, at that time still a youth player and currently captain of RC Celta.
