LaLiga Genuine Santander returns to Vigo to celebrate the start of the third phase of the 2022/23 season of this inclusive project, launched by LaLiga, through its Foundation, and consisting of a football league made up of teams of people with intellectual disabilities.
After the celebration of the 2nd phase in Barcelona and Bilbao, the purest passion of football now returns to the fields of play by the hand of RC Celta, host team of the weekend, who, together with the Celta Foundation, wanted to share the celebration of the Celtic centenary with the league of the real stars of football.
This Friday took place in A Sede RC Celta the traditional opening ceremony of this fourth stop in the Genuine calendar. Javier Tebas, president of LaLiga and Carlos Mouriño, president of RC Celta, have been in charge of welcoming the captains of the 22 teams participating in this weekend.
Carlos Mouriño wanted to express his excitement and that of RC Celta for hosting again LaLiga Genuine Santander: “I want to thank the president, Javier Tebas, and all the organization for letting us share this special moment in the centenary of RC Celta. Thank you, because it is a source of pride and joy for us to be able to host again one of the venues of this competition”.
Javier Tebas, expressed his gratitude to RC Celta and its commitment to LaLiga Genuine Santander: “It is a great pleasure to be here today, in the city of Vigo. We wanted to come here, as well as for the centenary of the club, to highlight the commitment that RC Celta Integra has shown since the birth of LaLiga Genuine Santander, a unique competition in the world, where the important thing is not to compete, but to share”.
On the 15th and 16th of April, more than 350 players will gather at the A Madroa Sports Facilities to play the 33 matches that make up this stage of the competition. Two days of sport where the passion that characterises LaLiga Genuine Santander will be the protagonist.
Arranged in 3 bands, Saturday morning, Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning, the teams will be able to defend their colours in order to advance in the sporting and Fair Play rankings and, above all, enjoy the most genuine football, accompanied by fans, family and friends, and, in short, anyone who wants to be infected by the spirit of this competition. Admission is free throughout the weekend.
As in each of the phases of this season, LaLiga Genuine Santander will be dedicated to the qualities that characterise this competition. And after experiencing the most genuine emotion and overcoming, the third phase of the season will focus on the passion with which the players, coaches and fans of this league live football.
