The first step of the #100anosdeAfoutezaeCorazon celebration arrives Friday 30th December. The team and its fans will welcome Sevilla at Abanca Balaídos in a match of vital importance for the home team. After this match, the club enters its 100th year anniversary, which will remember and celebrate that this institution is a few months away from becoming 100 years old.
This milestone would never have arrived without the loyal and passionate support the club’s fan base has always shown. Throughout the years they have carried the Celta legacy onwards from those who witnessed the birth of our club on September 23rd 1923 at the Coia Field, the Real Club Celta-Boavista where it all began. On Friday 30th, almost 100 years later, we head to Abanca Balaídos to watch a RC Celta-Sevilla match which starts a Centenary built entirely by the courage of Celta fans.
This match, crucial for RC Celta, will be the first stop of a great party which will be lead and directed towards our fans. The entire fanbase has actively participated in the preparation of this programme through the proposals sent to the Centenary website and in a recent meeting with the Federation of Supporters Clubs. The awaited moment will begin at the stadium at midday, with children’s entertainment, face painting, entertainers, stilt walkers, balloon artists…
After the match, Celta fans can enjoy Keltoi’s performance, which will perform live in a musical show with local DJs. This group is an important musical reference for all of Celta fans.
This group, formed in Vigo, with indeniable links to RC Celta, will lead to one of the most emotional and important moments of the day, when the Federation of Supporters Clubs of the club will participate: the team reception. At roughly 17.45h the Celta bus will arrive at Abanca Balaídos and the spectacular scenes of unison between the team and its fans who have brought so many victories, some of them miraculous, will be relived.
Once at the stadium, thousands of bags with 12 grapes will be handed out at the gates. They will be sealed with the Centenary wristband so that every fan can wear it from that moment on. Before kick off, 12 bells will be rung so that the Celta fans can celebrate by eating the 12 grapes, which will symbolise the beginning of the club’s Centenary.
This will not be the last of the activations on this unforgettable day, there will be more surprises for Celta fans who come to Abanca Balaídos to support the team in such a key match to move away from the relegation spots and spark the faith and confidence of a group that must be reborn by new head coach Carlos Carvalhal.
RC Celta will communicate further details regarding the match celebrations on the the 100th Anniversary and club’s social media platforms in the coming days.
