A PLAQUE TO COMMEMORATE OUR ROOTS

On August 23, 2023, exactly 100 years ago, the Vigo Sporting Club and the Real Club Fortuna came together at what was then the Fundación Gremial de Patronos, now the Juan Compañel Public Library, to give birth to the Real Club Celta.

To mark the centenary of the club’s first century of existence, RC Celta wanted to begin such a significant day by looking back to where it all started – our origins. Therefore, at the exact location where the merger of both clubs took place, the president of RC Celta, Carlos Mouriño, and the Board of Directors unveiled a commemorative plaque to commemorate the birth of the Celeste entity.
